Hydra is a homunculus created at some point between the mid 1500s and the early 1600s. She is the product of a seemingly failed human transmutation performed by Damien Somerfield in an attempt to bring his mother back from the dead. However the process was foiled by Salvia and the transmutation was thought to be a failure by Damien. Unbeknownst to both of them, the transmutation succeded partially and ended up created a waterbending homunculus, who also bears a resemblance to Damien's mother, having been made from a lock of her hair.
She is also a member of the Ultimatum Syndicate.
In his early years as a immortal, Damien suffered from intense loneliness and resolved to bring his mother back. He came into contact with Benvenuto Cellini at some point in the mid 1500s to early 1600s from whom he learned basic alchemy. Damien would then steal some of Cellini's books on alchemy and attempted a human transmutation to bring his mother back. Though its questionable whether such a action is even possible, regardless the transmutation was sabotaged by Savlia out of a mixture of jealousy and wanting to protect him from the consequences of performing such dark alchemy. The transmutation produced a unidentifiable mass of living matter, and seemingly quickly died afterwards. A distraught Damien fled the scene, unaware that the biomass was regenerating into a homunculus looking identical to the human it was intended to replace. The homunculus felt abandoned by Damien and developed a strong hatred for him, and has been trying to hunt him down ever since.
